Privacy Policy

WalkThru IQ is an app that helps contractors turn job-site walkthroughs into estimates, work plans, and invoices. This policy explains what information the app handles, why, and what control you have over it. The short version: your data exists to run your business, we don't sell it, and you can delete all of it yourself at any time.

Information you provide

Your account and company. Your name, email address, and password (stored only as a secure hash), plus the company profile you enter — company name, phone, address, license number, logo, and invoice preferences. This information appears on the documents you generate.

Your job data. Everything you capture while working: customer names and contact details, job-site addresses, voice recordings and their transcripts, photos, typed notes, uploaded documents, and the estimates, work plans, change orders, invoices, and payment records the app produces from them.

How it's used

Your data is used for one purpose: providing the service — transcribing your recordings, analyzing your walkthroughs, generating your documents, and keeping your project and billing history. We do not sell your data or share it with third parties for advertising.

AI processing

WalkThru IQ's core features use third-party AI services. When you record a walkthrough, the audio is sent to OpenAI for transcription. When the app analyzes a walkthrough or prices an estimate, the relevant transcripts, notes, photos, and project details are sent to Anthropic (and pricing research may use web search). These providers process the data to deliver the result; under the API terms we use, they do not use your data to train their models. AI output is always presented back to you for review — see our Terms of Service on that.

Your customers' information

The customer details, recordings, and photos you capture belong to your business, and you are responsible for collecting them lawfully — including telling customers when you're recording and complying with the recording-consent laws of your state. WalkThru IQ processes this information only on your behalf and never contacts your customers.

Storage, retention, and deletion

Your data is stored on WalkThru IQ's servers. Items you delete in the app (recordings, photos, notes, projects) are held in a recoverable state for 30 days and then permanently purged, along with their files. Deleting your account — available in the app under Settings → Account & security — immediately and permanently erases your company and everything in it: customers, projects, estimates, invoices, recordings, photos, and your logo. There is no retention after account deletion.

Security

Passwords are stored only as salted hashes, the mobile app authenticates with revocable tokens kept in your phone's secure keychain, and connections to the production server use encryption in transit (HTTPS).

Children

WalkThru IQ is a business tool and is not directed at children under 13.
